Twitter Inks Deal with Buzzfeed for New Breakfast Morning Show

In today’s changing digital landscape, media companies must adapt their message for different platforms to reach out to new viewers. And that’s exactly what Buzzfeed is doing this fall. Twitter has announced a new deal with the listicle-loving news site to produce a morning show called AM to DM with new content being streamlined for September.

The format for AM to DM will work like a regular news show where viewers get a dose of the days top stories. Hosting the show are Buzzfeed Books editor Isaac Fitzgerald and Buzzfeed news executive editor for culture Saeed Jones, with Cindy Gesuale, who’s work previously with CNN, Fox and Huffington Post. The content will be free for Twitter users, and the show will be sponsored by Wendy’s, Bank of America and Toyota.

Last fall, Twitter made a deal with the NFL to stream all Thursday Night Football games. Though executives said it went “incredibly well,” Amazon gained the rights this season. This new endeavor with Buzzfeed is part of a slew of programming on Twitter slated for the fall, with content from the WNBA, Viacom and other companies.

Will syndicated programming be just what Twitter needs to draw in more viewers and keep an edge in the competitive news industry? Let us know in the comments below.
