Time Warner Teams with Snapchat for New Original Shows

Time Warner has struck a deal with Snap Inc. for the next two years to develop new shows strictly for the popular Snapchat social media app. The deal with Time Warner, according to an article published by TechCrunch, will make use of $100M to produce shows that will air on the app.

The shows will feature many genres and be similar to other shows that are already streaming on Snapchat, each running in a 3-5 minute vertical format. According to the article, there is, on average, one new show airing per day, but the deal will push to at least three shows per day.

Advertising revenue will be split 50/50 for the two companies, but the overall goal is to have more traffic on the Snapchat app, going against other competitors like Instagram, Twitter, and even Netflix.
