Save the Date for Apple’s Next iPhone Event

The time we’ve been waiting for is almost here: Apple has set Tuesday September 12 as the big day for its annual iPhone event. Although Apple has not officially set the date in stone, The Wall Street Journal and other previous rumors have confirmed the upcoming date. Apple is still waiting to determine whether or not the product will be ready before it sets the date in stone. Plus, the location of the event has not been confirmed, as the Steve Jobs Auditorium may not be ready to host the event.

The event will, of course, feature the new iPhones as the headlining products. The iPhone 7s and 7s Plus are said to make a debut at the event alongside the iPhone 8 that could feature an almost completely “bezel-free” design.

This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the iconic device and the top-end phone is supposed have new features such as facial recognition used for unlocking and an OLED display. This display will render true black in images in graphics as well as improve the power efficiency of the device. Rumors suggest that wireless charging may also be a potential feature to the newest iPhone model.

Although the iPhone will be the main focus of the event, it has also been reported that a successor to the 4th generation Apple TV will be introduced. The TV could include support for 4K and HDR image output. In addition, a new Apple watch could make an appearance. The tech wearable will potentially include support for onboard cellular connection. HomePod, Apple’s “forthcoming smart speaker” revealed in June, will almost certainly make an appearance at the event as well.

As with any Apple event, the time and location are only speculation at this point. We are eagerly waiting to hear the official word from Apple itself. Considering this is the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, expectations are high and everyone will be watching this year’s event. Which Apple product are you most excited to hear about at the announcement? Let us know in the comments below!
