Popular Video-Sharing App, Vine, Announces Discontinuation

The six-second video-sharing app, Vine, has announced that they will be discontinuing the app in the upcoming months due to financial loss. In 2013, Vine introduced six-second videos called “Vines” that could be shared within the app. In only a few months after their launch, Vine became the most downloaded free app within the iOS App Store.
A significant amount of Vine users have used the app as their path to success through comedy or music, landing them record deals, TV shows and even movie deals. Some notable Viners include King Bach, KC James, and Jerry Purpdrank.
Vine creators will be able to download all of their already-created Vines, and Vines will still be accessible online through the Vine website.
The company will sharing more details about their discontinuation on their blog and Twitter account; they will also notify users through the app when anything new happens.
