New DJI Mavic Air Specs have Been Revealed
Drone tech company DJI is adding to its flying fleet with the brand new Mavic Air. Officially announced Tuesday, photos and specs of the drone were leaked a day before its release, and consumers were left wondering whether or not the rumors of new features and design were true. Well, it’s official. The drone is now available for preorder and will be hitting the market Jan. 28 at $800.
The Mavic Air is more advanced than the Mavic Spark, but does not quite live up to DJI’s Mavic Pro Platinum. The specs of this model include a 32-megapixel camera with a panorama mode, 4K resolution video, and a 3-way gimbal. The Mavic Air thankfully has a better camera than both the Spark and Mavic Pro, and this model also includes foldable legs like the current Mavic Pro, as well as obstacle avoidance sensors to avoid hitting anything in its way. It’s also equipped with Visual Positing System that will be better for control, hovering, and flying in doors.
The drone also features a new ventilation system that will prevent it from overheating and will have 21-minute flight time, which is the downside of this model whereas the Mavic Pro’s flight time is 30 minutes. This drone has a 2.5-mile range from your current position you take and can take off 16,000 feet upward. There is an optional remote that allows for the user to remove the thumbsticks and will be able to be controlled by the movements of your hands too. The drone comes in different colors such as white, black, and red.
For content creators this new drone is perfect for indoor videos as well as being able to take it anywhere you might be traveling. Its also perfect if you’re looking for high quality video to get front and center whether its during protest, or getting in areas that most people wouldn’t be able to without having to endanger themselves. For people who are wanting to get more experience with operating a drone or learning how to shoot creative videos as well, the Mavic Pro seems to be a good fit to start off with.
