Netflix Introduces Interactive Videos
Netflix is already a leader when it comes to streaming movies and binge-style programming. But now, the on-demand service is looking to push the envelope even more with interactive videos for their audience.
This means that viewers will be able to choose certain paths (via remote control or touchscreen) that characters can take. Think of it as a ‘create-your-own-adventure’ interactive experience.
This decision-based system is similar to that of video games such as The Walking Dead – A New Frontier, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, or even inFamous Second Son, each which allows the user to decided the fate of the protagonist.

As of now, only two videos have this new ability: “Puss In Book: Trapped in An Epic Tale,” featuring the beloved cat from Shrek trying to escape a magical storybook, and “Buddy Thunderstruck,” a story about a dog and his friend who race trucks (set for a release on July 14th).

Going up against other competition like Amazon, Hulu, and the new partnership between Time Warner and Snap Inc,. this new feature gives Netflix a new edge that sets itself apart from the pack.
The interactive content only works on iOS, Roku, game consoles, and some smart TV sets. Other devices like Android, Apple TV, and even the web will come at a later date. Just imagine how this could change the future of streaming services. What will Netflix come up with next?
