Google Maps Gets Facelift with New Colors & Features

When Google first rolled out its Map feature in 2005, it completely changed how people traveled and navigated our world. Major updates throughout the years have brought us new functionality and features, while giving users the most up-to-date directions on earth.

But Google Maps is now working at max capacity with it’s newest redesign, bringing with it new categorization features and searchability. By labeling and color coordinating everything from places of worship, to entertainment, to services and many more, the app has gotten even simpler and more user friendly.

The new design is subtle, but effective. For example, if users were looking for a bite to eat or quick drink, they would open the app and look for orange icons in their search area. Entertainment is labeled in aqua, transportation in teal, outdoor venues in green, and so on and so forth. By using consistent colors throughout its interface, finding the right location, business or event has never been easier.

The updates will continue to be added over the next few weeks and applied to other Google apps including Assistant, Earth, Search, and Android Auto. Google continues to be ahead of the pack when rolling out new content to improve our lives, and we can’t wait to see what else they come up with next.
