As an ode to the awesome content creators of the world, every Saturday will see each of our staff members choosing a favorite content piece – from the week – that you can read/watch during you spare time on the weekends. Each one of our staff members has different personalities, so you’ll see a nice blend of great content.
Without further ado, here are our ‘Content Kings’ from this past week.

Chauncey Billups: Letter to My Younger Self – ThePlayers’ Tribune
I absolutely love content pieces that are derived from the horse’s mouth; those told in the first-person point of view. The Players’ Tribune did an amazing job of curating Chauncey Billups’ autobiography with this one, and it gave a lot of great insight to Chauncey’s thoughts during those different times of his life. Transparency is key.

“Hittin’ Em” Ad – Jordan Brand for Russell Westbrook
Aside from accumulating near-triple doubles every game and pushing fashion into new boundaries, Russell Westbrook is known for his pre-game dances. Aside from their timeless product and unparalleled success, Jordan Brand is known for generating some of the culture’s most prominent ads. Assemble both parties and illuminate their strengths and, yet again, history is made. #HittinEm

The Crisis in Aleppo, Explained – Vox
I once heard entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk say, “If content is king, then context is God.” This piece from Vox is not only visually striking, it carefully and thoughtfully provides context on what’s happening in Aleppo. It’s not easy to distill a complex situation into a quick video, but Vox did it very effectively here.

NFL Ratings Just Fell Off a Cliff – The Atlantic
Derek Thompson at TheAtlantic.com gives a simple yet very thorough explanation as to why the NFL has seen their ratings decrease this season. Thompson lists off six reasons as to why the most popular sport in the United States of America has struggled compared to prior years. I personally think the NFL’s war against celebration and fun during the game has caused some disdain amongst fans. Check out Thompson’s article above.

As POTUS Barack Obama’s second and final term comes to an end, the country readies itself for a new Commander-in-Chief. As he prepares to vacate the White House quarters, Obama took some time to chat it up with Sway from Sway in the Morning about his favorite to win this year’s NBA Championship and his relationship with Chance the Rapper. Regardless of your political affiliation, I think we can all agree that it has been cool to have a President appear to be into sports and current music as much as we all are.
