coiski 101: Using the iPhone 7plus Telephoto Lens

There are several advantages when shooting with the iPhone 7 Plus’ telephoto lens. For those that aren’t familiar with the technical term, a telephoto lens is a lens with a longer focal length than standard, giving a narrow field of view and a magnified image. Traditionally to achieve similar results, users would have to either: a.) move closer to their subject or b.) use the undesirable digital zoom. Thanks to the designers of Apple’s latest and most advanced mobile device, the iPhone 7 Plus boasts a plethora of new photography features, including a 12MP telephoto lens. Shooting with the iPhone 7 Plus’ telephoto lens is fairly simple.

Instructions:

1. Launch the camera app.
2. Ensure your phone is in ‘Photo Mode.’
3. Tap on the ‘1x’ button to access the telephoto lens.
4. Your camera display should now read ‘2x’ mode.
5. Fire away!
