Cam Newton Offends Female Reporter
Carolina Panther’s quarterback Cam Newton is receiving backlash for a comment he recently stated toward Charlotte Observer reporter Jourdan Rodrigue. During an interview, Rodrigue asked Newton a question about one of his teammates and running his route, with which Newton responded, “It’s funny to hear a woman talk about routes. It’s funny.”
Rodrigue was offended by the remarks, and even after having a post-interview with Newton, she claims he never apologized for his remarks.

Although Newton seemed to find the question funny, the sports world and several social media users didn’t. Analysts took to the air while others took to social media to display their concerns toward Newton, as well as support for Rodrigue.
1, it wasn’t funny. 2, wasn’t a joke, was a comment that he doesn’t think women are as qualified to talk about basic sports concepts as men.
