With iOS 11 expected to debut sometime later this month, Apple has started sharing tips about the updates new features. These tips were pointed out by Apple users on Twitter and Reddit after they noticed push notifications from the Tips app encouraging them to read up on the new iPad Dock, Siri Translate and more.
In the past, Apple has typically launched the new iOS updates within a week or so following their fall Apple event, and about two days before the debut of the new iPhones. There have only been a couple of cases where this has not happened.
2012: Event Sept 12 / iOS 6 released Sept 19 / iPhone 5 released Sept 21
2013: Event Sept 10 / iOS 7 released Sept 18 / iPhone 5s released Sept 20
2014: Event Sept 9 / iOS 8 released Sept 17 / iPhone 6 released Sept 19
2015: Event Sept 9 / iOS 9 released Sept 16 / iPhone 6s released Sept 25

This year’s iPhone event will take place on September 12, and the iPhone 8, 7s, and 7s Plus are predicted to make their debut on September 22. Looking at these dates and considering previous iOS launches, the iOS 11 launch date is expected to be September 20. However, this isn’t set in stone, and Apple could decide to release iOS 11 a few days earlier like they did in 2015 and 2016.
