James Harden Being Sued for Breaking a Photographer’s Finger

Luis Seijo Jul 28

Athletes and celebrities can all agree that as much as they enjoy the spotlight and the fame, they also want to maintain some degree of personal space. Paparazzi and fans alike can get a little too hasty when spotting famous people out in public, and James Harden of the Houston Rockets is all too familiar with this from an incident back in 2016.

According to a report filed by photographer David Flores, last May Harden “angrily smacked [him] on the hand while he was holding a camera” outside a Hollywood lounge at 2 a.m., resulting in a broken finger for Flores.

Of course, a damaged digit is hardly a reason for a lawsuit. Hardin’s attorney Rusty Hardin insists he was only being targeted because of his celebrity status. “When I see someone claim extreme mental anguish and permanent disability from a broken finger, it’s hard to take it seriously,” Hardin said.
