WME/IMG will provide sensors on the gloves, on fighters’ shorts and in the arena, which will track things like how fast a punch was thrown, how hard they hit and how many punches have been thrown, just to name a few. In an article published by the New York Post,
“We’re working on a lot of stats,” said White as he was on stage with Emanuel, answering an audience’s questions at a Cannes Lions marketing event session. “We want to see the best knockout – it’s perfect for social media.”
Viral videos will be comprised from the fighting content and both sides want the videos to be interactive and shareable, allowing fans to input emoji’s, like in a Facebook Live or Instagram video. The project is about six months away.
