Rapper Mims’ RecordGram Wins Top Startup App

You probably had his hit song, “This Is Why I’m Hot” as your ringtone in middle school. Now, you might have his award winning app on your smartphone.

Rapper Mims, along with his business partners, has just won TechCrunch’s competition for Top Startup App. From the recording booth to the virtual booth, Mims has invested his future into a project that could set him up for even more success.

The app, RecordGram, is a mobile studio where producers and artists can collaborate from anywhere at anytime. Producers can “lease” their beats out and artists can put their own spin on them. Within the app, creators will be able to write, record vocals, shoot videos and share to their favorite social media platforms.

Mims says, “RecordGram is going to be a market differentiator for companies like Apple, Spotify, Google and Microsoft who are all competing in the music space and with original content creation strategy”.
