A News Anchor Learned Of Her Husband’s Death While Reporting It On Live TV

One can only imagine the utter shock of this instance.

Supreet Kaur, a 28-year-old news anchor for a regional news channel in India (IBC24), found out about her husband’s death while recently reading a breaking news report of a car accident on live television. Somehow, she managed to maintain her professionalism and composure while reading the entire segment even when she realized the victim was her husband halfway through the script. Kaur was married to Harshad Kawade, who was one of three people that died in a highway accident (two more were severely injured) for only one year.

Kaur began to put two and two together when the details of the accident – car type and crash location – began to jump off the script page. Supposedly, the production team had just found out about the death of her husband as well but feared telling her at the moment while on live television.

Shortly after finishing the segment, Kaur broke down and notified her relatives before heading to the site of the accident.
