YouTube Live Streaming & Superchat Available on Mobile App for Content Creators

Youtube seems to have found a new way for viewers and content creators to interact and create more entertainment. The highly popular and most utilized video platform has made things more interesting by installing a livestream feature into its mobile app. The feature has not been made available to everyone who has subscribed to Youtube, as it’s currently only available to users who have more than 10,000 subscribers.
Youtube product managers Barbara McDonald and Kurt Wilms announced in a Youtube blog post stating,
Mobile livestreaming has been built directly into the YouTube mobile application. All you have to do to start streaming is open YouTube, hit the capture button and you’re live. Streamed videos will have all of the same features as regular YouTube videos. They can be searched for, found via recommendations or playlists and protected from unauthorized use. Our mobile livestreaming uses YouTube’s rock-solid infrastructure, meaning that it’ll be fast and reliable, just the YouTube you know and love. And we’ve been working hand-in-hand with hundreds of creators to refine the mobile streaming experience while they stream from a boat or take live calls from their fans. Based on their feedback, we did things like slowing down live chat (it turns out receiving 2,000 messages per second is a little too fast!) and pushing for better streaming quality across devices.
The livestream app will also contain a feature called Superchat, which is a tool for influencers and creators to interact with viewers and to also put some price tags on their content. This feature is available to content creators in more than 20 countries and viewers in over 40 countries. It seems like Youtube has found a way to challenge creators for more entertaining content and a platform for possibly more Youtube stars to rise.
