Lifetime Set to Debut New Michael Jackson Biopic

Legacy, impact and longevity.

13 Grammy Awards and 26 American Music Awards, and this isn’t even scratching the surface in regards to the career of Michael Jackson. The King of Pop left a mark on music that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. From the moonwalk to his trademark glove, Jackson had everyone sliding around on their kitchen floor trying to be just like him.

Since his passing in 2009, Michael Jackson is still very much a part of the music landscape. With a catalog filled with timeless classics, Jackson’s music is still played in heavy rotation across generations. Having a life that was filled with highs and lows, amazing music and live performances that would take your breath away, the stage has been set for what looks like another attempt at a biopic of the late King of Pop’s life.

Lifetime is in the early stages of putting together a film about Jackson. In a recent feature on Essence Magazine’s website, it is stated that filming is set to begin shooting in February 2017. Looking to give viewers an introspective look into the last few years of Michael’s life, the network plans to base the film off the 2014 book that was written by his security guards, Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days.

With a couple of music and entertainment related biopics under their belt, fans of Jackson can look forward to Lifetime delivering them something to talk about – at the very least – while the network’s film about the late R&B singer, Aaliyah, received mixed reviews across the board. Whether you are a fan of the music or not, this is sure to be a must-see flick about the man in the mirror.
