Instagram Announces Brand New ‘Live’ Feature

IG keeps on evolving.

After hinting at a special Live video broadcasting feature last month, Instagram is now rolling out the new feature to all users in the USA over the next few days. Instagram Live enables you to show your followers what you’re doing in real-time, which means your followers can only see these live content pieces – using Instagram Live – while you’re actually broadcasting (the Live videos aren’t stored on your Instagram, like Instagram Stories). You’re also able to browse for Live video happenings in real time as selected by Instagram, algorithmically.

You may be wondering how can one not miss Live videos from your favorite people to follow. Instagram has you covered. Under the Explore tab, there’s a new “Top Live” section for users, which shows a selection of the best content currently on offer as determined by the company’s algorithm, which is really great.

You can find the Live feature in the Instagram Stories section by swiping into the Stories area and tapping the toggle to enter the “Live” mode.

Check your Instagram app for updates if you’re anxious to go live, as, again, they’ll be rolling out to everyone soon.
