March of 2016 is when another popular dance, the “Running Man,” was reinvented due to University of Maryland basketball players, Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley, posting multiple videos of themselves doing the new “Running Man” dance. It spread quickly throughout the NCAA, as other collegiate basketball programs joined in. Also, other sports teams, such as the Cal Football Bears and Arizona Wildcats baseball team, participated. The challenge was made popular on Instagram and Twitter and even reached The Ellen Show.
